Common Sense 12: The Importance of Being Aware of How Leaders Aquire and Wield Power

With the exception of union bosses, politicians and leaders of political movements, most Democrats seem less aware of how socio-economic power is acquired and manipulated than Republicans seem to be.  Perhaps this is because the latter incline toward being the caretakers of the nation’s business/banking/manufacturing interests.  In the  September 27, 2011 C Span video below, NYU professors, Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and Alastair Smith provide a glimpse of how international and national leaders have acquired and wield  political and economic power.  This video may be helpful in planning 2012 Democratic political strategies and tactics
