It was a fun day. There were about 200 in attendance, all seated in the
middle of the room. Around the periphery were booths for the various
candidates as well as a Voter Registration table, a fellow selling bumper
stickers, and a bar.
Harriet welcomed us, then the representatives for the candidates gave their
speeches as did real candidates who were there (Ann Kirkpatrick, Howard
Shanker, and someone else I can't remember). We put in our first "ballot"
(the straw hat collection boxes were on a table), then the first three
winning candidates had a run-off. I had to leave before the results were
in, but I understand that it was almost 1/3, 1/3, 1/3, with Obama coming out
on top, followed by Richardson, then Clinton.
