Democrats of the Red Rocks is a Democratic club that welcomes all independent-minded citizens.
Our mission is to elect Democrats by increasing voter turnout,
promoting Democratic party principles and educating the community.

YouTube Videos of DORR Lectures

With the speakers' permission, DORR produces video recordings of presentations at its monthly breakfasts, and makes them available both on YouTube and on DVD. We don't record presentations by candidates. (Most candidates prefer to produce their own video materials.) G) "Extremism and American Politics: Abolitionists, Jihadis, and Tea Parties" A lecture by Professor Joel Olson, Department of Politics and International Affairs, Northern Arizona University, December 16, 2010.

I) "Challenge to Our Civil Liberties". lecture by Alessandra Soler Meetze (executive director of the arizona ACLU) February 17,2011

J) "ILLEGAL" Life and Death in Arizona's Immigration War Zone" A lecture by Terry Greene Sterling March 17, 2011. Terry is a three-time winner of the Virg Hill 'Journalist of the year' and a former staff investigative reported for the Phoenix New Times. Sterling profiled the secret lives at the heart of the immigration controversy.

K) "Vietnam Then and Now" Award winning local author Hugh Scott spent two years in wartime Vietnam and returned four times in recent years for educational and business purposes.

L) "Arab Spring?" A Critical Outlook at the Events in the Arab Spring. A Lecture by Professor Faten Ghosn, School of Government & Public Policy, University of Arizona, October 20, 2011. Dr Faten Ghosn received her Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 2006. Her research interests include conflict, conflict management, international negotiation, international organizations, as well as Middle Eastern politics. Specifically, she examines how states manage their conflicts/disagreements through negotiations.


M) "What is Government For? The Rise of Economic Inequality and Do Trickle Down Economics Work?" A lecture by Lane Kenwothy Professor of Sociology and Political Science at the University of Arizona. Lane is noted researcher who's studies have been quoted by Paul Krugman, Dean Baker, Brad Delong and the NYT Economics blog. His blog "Consider the Evidence" suggests his approach to social,political and economic questions.

N)Putin in a Changing World Dr. John P. (Pat) Willerton is an associate professor of political science in the School of Government and Public Policy. He earned a B.A. in Russian and an M.A. in Political Science at MichiganState University, and an M.A. in Russian and Eastern Studies and a Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He worked at Michigan State University, August 1985-July 1988, before coming to the University of Arizona in August 1988.
