Democrats of the Red Rocks is a Democratic club that welcomes all independent-minded citizens.
Our mission is to elect Democrats by increasing voter turnout,
promoting Democratic party principles and educating the community.

Democratic Perspective Radio

Democratic Perspective is only alternative/progressive/liberal/Democratic radio program in Arizona outside of Phoenix. And the only AM show we know of in the state. We've been doing shows for over year now focusing largely on domestic economic and social issues. Democratic Perspective  is aired on Northern Arizona radio station KAZM 780 AM (Sedona), Monday mornings at 8:15 -8:45 MST ) after Fox news.

All our shows are available as podcasts on our web site http://verdevalleyindependentdemocrats.org and iTunes.

Democratic Perspective is brought to you by the Verde Valley Independent Democrats, an independent working group founded by DORR members in 2011 to bring a broad spectrum of accurate information — moderate, progressive, liberal, and Democratic — to the general public. We examine issues and ideas from different perspectives that challenge the prevailing political wisdom of both parties.  The show is co-hosted by Mike Cosentino and Stephen Williamson with frequent guest hosts.

The show provides a regular, vigorous discussion of issues and interviews with politicians and political and social thinkers from all over Arizona and the United States.

Our first program on featured an interview with former Congressional Representative Ann Kirkpatrick. Since then we've had programs on Medicare, Social Security, Arab Spring, Privatization, Debt Ceiling Crisis, Dark Money, ALEC, War on Women. We've done interviews with Howard Dean, Lane Kenworthy, Dean Baker, Randy Parraz, Jamie Galbraith, Raul Grijalva, Digby (Heather Parton), Noam Chomsky, Avia Chomsky, Alan Grayson, Thomas Palley, Faten Ghosn, Celinda Lake as well as Arizona Democratic leaders, Kyrsten Sinema, Chad Campbell, Andrei Cherny, Harriet Young .

Democratic Perspective Working Group: Mike Cosentino, Gary LaMaster, Dick Searle, Marv Stalcup, William Timberman,Chuck Williamson Stephen Williamson

Consultants: Frank Costanzo, Jim Ledbetter

Sponsors: Ledbetter Law Firm L.L.C. FTC & Associates

The Democratic Perspective works with but is independent of all Democratic clubs and Democratic organizations. The Web site and its editorial contents are paid for by the Verde Valley Independent Democrats. They are not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.

DORR's Annual Meeting January 29, 2012 -- 2012-02-08

We had many VIPs present: For example, the three candidates for the Sedona Fire District Governing Board. Their election will be held May 15.

Left to right: Diane Schoen, Corrie Cooperman, Nazih Hazime.

Ann Kirkpatrick, Candidate for US Congress, CD1

Tom Chabin, Candidate for AZ Senate

Chad Campbell AZ Minority Whip and Candidate for re-election was our featured guest. He was a very impressive speaker; he told some tales about AZ majority party shenanigans. We MUST turn Arizona blue this year!

In addition, there were Matt Capalby, Director of N.AZ. DEQ who told us that Andy Tobin (our current AZ Rep.) couldn't be angrier that the Verde Valley is going to be BLUE....

John Biggers spoke on behalf of Wenona Benally Baldenegro, candidate for US Congress in CD 1, who couldn't be here; also in attendance were Sedona City Councillors Barbara Litrell and Dennis Rayner. Patti Hansen, who is a candidate for Coconino County Recorder said a few words, as did Jean Swarthout, President of Northland Pioneer College in Flagstaff, who is a candidate for AZ House in (our) new LD6.

The DORR Hospitality Committee dished up some delicioso Italian pasta dishes
 along with perfecto Italian salads.
And there was wine! And dolce provided by DORR members.
It was a fine evening, to be sure. There was standing room only!
